When the weekend rolls around I like to do a pamper session on my skin. After a week of wear, tear and abuse on my skin it is nice to take a moment to replenish your skin. I ideally would like to do a pamper session at least twice a week, but I will settle with one for now.
Before I start my pamper session I always like to make sure my skin is nice and clean. Either I will take a long hot shower and wash my face, which is great for opening your pores, by using my Clarisonic and a gentle cleanser (such as my Michael Todd True Organics Oat and Honey Deep Pore Cleanser).
When I am done cleansing my face I like to apply a face mask that corresponds to how my skin is feeling / looking at that point in time. Lately I have been using my Lush BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask, this mineral-rich mask cleanses and softens skin. It is full of tons of good vitamins and nutrients, it is great for all skin types. Lush makes great fresh face masks, full of natural ingredients, they need to be refrigerated and have a close expiration date. You get about 5-6 uses out of a single batch.
I have been loving this mask because it leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I love applying it fresh out of the fridge, the cooling sensation feels great on my sensitive skin. The BB Seaweed Mask has small granules in it, when I wash it off I like to rub it around for a mild exfoliation.
When I am done with my face mask I will sometimes finish off by using my Mario Badescu Silver Powder on my T-zone. You apply the powder by dampening a cotton ball with water and dipping it into the powder before applying it to your face. This turns the powder into a paste that will dry on your skin over the course of 10 minutes. To remove I like to soak a cotton pad in Mario Badescu's Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion and use it to wipe the Silver Powder off my face.
The silver powder is great for absorbing excess oil on my oily T-zone, it is also awesome at remedying black heads (although you don't get the same satisfaction as peeling off those Biore Strips and seeing all the black heads attached, gross). Using the Silver Powder together with the Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion is the perfect duo for clearing up stubborn clogged pores.
When I am done I like to moisturize my skin with a good thick cream. I have been loving the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, it is thick and moisturizing, but my skin absorbs it quickly and I am not left with grease face for the rest of the night. I also light to hit my under eyes with some eye cream to round out the moisturizing. Lately I have been grabbing for my boyfriends Kiehl's Eye Alert, it is said to help combat puffiness and dark circles, two things I suffer from.
If I'm feeling like super pampering myself I will complete the routine by exfoliating my lips with Lush's Lip Scrub and then topping it off with a good hydrating lip balm, such as Nivea's Kiss of Smoothness. This is a step I try to do daily or at least every other day, because my lips frequently get dry and flakey with all the lipstick I like to wear.
