After the dullness of winter, there is no better way to freshen up your makeup look then with a pop of bright blush. Let's be honest here for a second, I am a blush fiend, I own way too much, but I love them all.
The right blush will make you glow, it can give you radiance and warmth, it is one of those products that really can change up your makeup look.
There is something about the spring that I feel like makes every brand come out with new shades and formulas of blush. Maybe I never really notice it the rest of the year, but lately I have been noticing a bunch of new blush formulas and styles in a variety of fun shades.
Some blushes have been raved about around the blogosphere, such as the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes and the Clinique Cheek Pop's. They are supposed to be amazing and beautiful with a great natural finish and glow.
There are also plenty of drugstore brands that make AMAZING blushes, that have come out with some new options for the spring.
Milani makes amazing baked blushes, I adore Corallina and Luminoso, they also recently added to their permanent collection of baked blushes a few matte formulas that I am excited to pick up and try out. Milani also released some limited edition shades in their Rose Powder Blush, I am loving the look of Coral Cove.
NYX is another favorite drugstore brand that I look to for great blush options, their powder blushes and cream blushes are affordable and highly pigmented. A new edition to their popular blushes is their new Baked Blushes, the shades look fantastically glowy and range from beautiful soft pinks to bright corals and mauves.
My last favorite go to for affordable blushes is ELF. I have been loving their studio blushes for years now. They are richly pigmented and you cannot beat the $3 price tag, plus there is always a promotion on their website, allowing you to get them even cheaper.
Recently I was scoping out their site, they are always putting up new items, and I noticed that they are now making a Studio Blush Palette. The palette comes in two shade ranges (dark and light), with four colors in each palette. It looks like there is a nice variety of finishes in the palette, as well as a nice range of colors. I don't know if there is any shade cross over between the palettes and the single blushes, but this looks like an amazing palette to travel with. Plus the $6 price tag doesn't hurt either.
Lastly Maybelline has come out with a new cream blush in stick form. I have not had the opportunity to try many Maybelline blushes, but I am a fan of a good cream blush and there aren't many drugstore options. I did see a lovely review done by Emily Noel that has made me intrigued to try them out.
Whether you are a fan of powder or cream, matte or glowy blush, there is a new blush out there that will work for you. I am super excited to try some of these blushes and add them to my collection. I know at least one of them will become a favorite.
Have you tried any of these blushes? Which was your favorite?
