Mini Birthday Haul

So every year for my birthday (it's on thursday!) I like to treat myself to something I wouldn't normally buy the rest of the year. Some years I treat myself to something really splurge worthy, like a handbag or a pair of shoes. This year I went for some splurge worthy makeup.

I typically stick with drugstore foundations and concealers (except my beloved Bobbi Brown corrector). I guess my logic for that is that if I don't like it as much, it isn't such a loss on my wallet.

I had been hearing some really awesome things about the new Marc Jacobs Gel Super Charged Foundation, how it has a natural finish and is great for oily skin. So far today is my first day trying it out, so far so good.

Since I got myself a foundation, I felt like I should get a good concealer to compliment my purchase. Concealer is one of those things I always have issues with, it either creases like crazy or is too sheer to cover anything. After reading a bunch of good things I decided to go with the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, it is supposed to be hydrating with good coverage, a great under eye concealer.

During your birthday month Sephora give's all their Beauty Insider's a little gift. This year it is a mini Benefit They're Real mascara and a mini Watt's Up highlighter. I am excited to finally try the mascara, I just never could justify spending that much on a mascara.

I also decided to cash in my Beauty Insider points for a little Bobbi Brown To Go set. I have loved the few products I have tried from Bobbi Brown, so I knew this would be a good use of my points. Plus the cute little palette will be great for travelling.

I can't wait to really give my new products a good test. There are a couple more things I want to splurge on this weekend (some Kiehl's skincare).

What are some of your favorite high end beauty and skin care products that are worth the splurge?
