Ever since I got back from vacation I have been seriously slacking on this blogging thing.
But now I am back and attempting to regain the motivation that I lost while I was away.
Anyways, on my travels around the west coast of England I have managed to pick up a variety of beauty goodies to try out. I always love trying new things and there are plenty of brands available in UK drug stores that are not available in the states and I always seem to go HAM while I am across the pond. This trip was no exception.
Prior to going away I did a lot of research on what all the British Beauty Bloggers have been raving about lately and tried to pick some of those things up as well as others that struck my fancy while wandering around the high street.
UK drugstores thrill me, there are testers for all things beauty. I am so jealous! I would definitely make better beauty decisions at the drugstore if we had the ability to test them out (plus maybe that will elimate people opening sealed packages to create testers anyways).
Enough of that rant and onto the goodies that I picked up. So far I have only tried 3 things so far because I have been attempting to keep them pristine to photograph for you little love bugs. (Please excuse the photos, I took them on my iphone hoping to get this up for you as soon as possible. Another more detailed post and review will follow in the following weeks).
One of the first things I picked up was the Barry M Gelly nail polishes. I have tried Barry M before and I have loved them, they are a great price and have great opaque pigmentation with 1 - 2 coats, plus they are one of the cheapest nail polishes in the store. The Gelly nail line is no exception, they are beautifully pigmented and dry with a nice shine to them. The colors I picked up were Watermelon (dark green, riddle me that) and Lychee (I don't even know what they look like).
I also picked up a nice variety of face products as well. I picked up a bottle of the ever raved about Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation. First impression is that it reminded me of my Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Foundation (I will compare this further). Also I had to pick up another Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, I remember loving the last bottle I got a few years ago, I am excited to have this in my collection again.
I also got a Bourjois Cream to Powder eyeshadow that I am intrigued to try (I hope it is similar to the Maybelline Color Tattoos), an MUA Makeup Palette in Undressed, which looks exactly like the original Naked Palette (comparisons to follow in the up coming weeks), an MUA cream blush, A Rimmel Lipgloss/stain pencil thing, and the Bourjois Bronzing Primer that people have compared to the Chanel Bronze Universal (don't worry I won't be comparing, since I don't own the Chanel one, a girl can dream...then buy the drugstore dupe).
I also picked up a few skincare items that aren't shown, some makeup wipes by Boots because I lost mine and the L'oreal Micellar Water which is said to be a dupe for Bioderma.
I am thrilled with the products I have got. Now I can't wait to bust into them to tell you all about them.
Have you tried any UK beauty products, or maybe you are from there, if so what are some of your favorites?
